I think I've been captivated by the additional presence you can get from the smaller amps. Lately I've been mostly using my Trademark 30, Laney Club 10 (which I think has great tone) and shying away from some of my bigger power plants. Yeah, by itself, it's pretty pukey, but it does come alive through the 15' woofer and horn tweeter of that Kustom PA system.īut indeed, I should try it through some of m other Fender amps, like the DRRI or '65 Twin. First of all, I run the G-Dec 3 Thirty Blues Edition into a Kustom KCP15P which totally changes the performance of the G-Dec. I'd hate to think you only play them through that little Fender. and I know you've said several times how much you like it, but good lordy you have some really nice guitars. Out of curiosity, what other amps do you have GAS Man? No disrespect to the GDec. What's the other thoughts out there from the Casino users?

Is that a transformation one should venture with a Casino or instead embrace its darker bluesy notes?

Now with the P-90s having chrome covers, I figure I could bring on the chime by replacing them with Lollar P-90s with plastic covers, but I'm not sure if that's a worthy journey. Not saying that's all it can do, but I'm thinking that the Casino is at its best with that moderate overdrive setting where the guitar is at least on the edge of producing feedback, or better yet, where it's trying to feedback but you're controlling it with selective string playing and muting. Well, I ran it through the G-Dec 30 Blues Edition tonight and I really think 'that tone' is it for that guitar. So I pulled it out of hibernation recently to give it a go for maybe the fourth time.Ībout all I know about Casinos is that John Lennon played one on Revolution, but I figured they must be more versatile than that. And definitely not as chimey as I would have guessed I'd get from a true hollow body electric and P-90s.

I found the tone to be a bit indistinct and somewhat bland. It was tossed aside for awhile because it was not love at first strum. Now the one I have is the Elitist so it's supposed to be a good representative of the species. I rip open the package, squeal with delight then rush off to the next package. When it comes to guitars, I've been a bit like Ralphie's little brother in the movie 'A Christmas Story'. I've had one now for awhile now (39 months to be exact)
